Signed Nigel Mansell 1991 British GP Senna Taxi Pewter Sculpture 1:18 Product Information
1:18 Signed Nigel Mansell 1991 British GP Senna Taxi Pewter Sculpture.
We are pleased to be able to offer this 1:18 pewter sculpture depicting one of the most famous moments from the history of Formula One.
It is from the 1991 British Grand Prix, and the moment when race winner Nigel Mansell gave Ayrton Senna a lift back to the pits after the race.
Mansell had won the race convincingly in his Williams FW14, while Senna’s McLaren had run out of fuel on the last lap while running second. He would be classified fourth. Nigel then sportingly transported his rival back to parc ferme on his victory lap. And so the famous ‘taxi’ moment became legend.
It was a unique event, making this a very special piece. And to put the icing on the cake, Nigel Mansell has hand-signed every one of the 555-piece limited edition as well.
For the dyed-in-the-wool diecast collectors amongst you, we would just point out that this 1:18 pewter sculpture is a piece of art. It is therefore not going to match the likes of a Minichamps or Spark offering in terms of the straightness and accuracy of wings, suspension components and so on - we just felt that we needed to put that out there!
