Schott Bomber jacket khaki
The Schott story is well known.
In 1913 two brothers, Irving and Jack Schott, opened a small store selling their handmade leather garments in New York’s lower east side.
They became the first ever company to use a metal zip on a leather jacket and also produced the first ever dedicated motorcycle jacket: the Perfecto.
When WWII broke out, the US Government was not slow to take advantage of Schott’s expertise, and the company became one of the leading suppliers of leather flying jackets and other military wear.
This jacket is a modern re-interpretation of the original US Airforce B-10.
The B-10 was introduced in July 1943; it was the first in a new generation of flight jackets that were developed to supersede those made of sheepskin.
The outer is a fine cotton twill. The originals were lined with Alpaca pile for incredible insulation, although this modern version employs a more modern, high-performance filler that does the job just as well.
