Barbour Steve McQueen™ Titus check shirt
When McQueen left L.A. to live in Santa Paula, he kind of dropped out.
Okay, so he continued to spend money like a film star when it came to collecting old cars, classic bikes and vintage aeroplanes, but he adopted a far simpler and more humble lifestyle in his daily life.
His wife Barbara said that he would often spend hours sat in his old chair in the yard sifting through the small ads. in the back of the local papers looking for bargains, and instead of popping down Rodeo Drive for his clothes, he was happy buying shirts and pants that were on promotion at his local JC Penny.
Which may well have accounted for his penchant for plaid shirts, a staple that can be picked up in just about every clothing and hardware store in the mid-west.
Anyway, this particular shirt is not a direct copy of any particular shirt that was worn by McQueen, but it is very similar to many that he was photographed wearing. Potentially, the best photographs showing him in such a shirt were shot by his wife in and around their ranch in Santa Paula, and the airfield where he kept his toys.
