Minichamps has announced a 1:12 figurine of Valentino Rossi from the 2009 MotoGP season. When this 1:12 figure was first announced we wondered what on earth a startbox was, but from the photos used in Minichamps’ advertising we now know it is the contraption that spins the rear wheel to get the bike started. This is just another example of how creative Minichamps are with their 1:12 Rossi figures. And judging from the pre-orders we have taken so far our customers must agree, as this is one of the most popular forthcoming figures we have reviewed. Indeed, it is already close to selling out. Although these Rossi figures are not as cheap as they used to be (far from it in fact!), dedicated Valentino Rossi fans and collectors ensure that new Vale subjects are always in short supply.
