IXO has now released the 24th subject in its 1:43 La Storia collection: Rene Arnoux’s 1985 Ferrari 156/85 from the Brazilian Grand Prix. Just four more and we will have reached the halfway point in this mammoth series. This replica was originally announced as a Michele Alboreto car, but IXO decided to change it to Arnoux shortly before release. This is probably due to the fact that Mattel has announced that it is planning to produce an Alboreto 156/85. Arnoux finished fourth in Brazil, in what was to be his only race for Ferrari that season. After the race he was dismissed, and replaced by Stefan Johansson. 1985 was a good year for Ferrari; they finished second in the constructors’ standings to McLaren, with Michele Alboreto scoring wins in Canada and Germany on his way to second in the championship. Every IXO La Storia release comes complete with a tin book style storage box and a leaflet detailing the mechanical aspects of the car.
