Jean Alesi’s 1994 Ferrari 412 T1 is part of IXO’S La Storia collection. We originally expected this replica to be a Gerhard Berger car but, at the last minute, we heard that it was going to be an Alesi car instead. We think this is because Mattel released a 1:43 Berger 412 T1, and IXO didn’t want to effectively replicate exactly the same car again. Specifically, this is Jean’s car from the 1994 Belgian Grand Prix. After failing to score a win in the previous three seasons, Ferrari started to claw its way back to respectability in 1994. Berger won in Germany on his way to third in the championship, while Alesi placed fifth, scoring podiums in Brazil, Canada, Britain and Japan. Ferrari was a comfortable third in the constructors’ standings. As with all the other releases in the La Storia collection, the replica comes complete with a tin book style storage box and a leaflet detailing the mechanical aspects of the car.
