A couple of years ago Minichamps announced re-releases of most of its Michael Schumacher ‘non-Ferrari’ Formula One replicas. This is good news for collectors who missed out first time, and who are not able or prepared to spend the triple figure sums necessary to secure the original releases on eBay. With Schumacher’s 1991 Jordan recently re-released, we hope that the Benettons shown here will follow in the not too distant future. Against the backdrop of the death of Ayrton Senna, Schumacher won six of the first seven races in 1994 to open up a 37 point lead in the championship over Damon Hill. Following a disqualification, an engine failure and a two race ban, Hill closed the gap to just one point. At Jerez and Suzuka they each scored a win and a second to remain a point apart heading into the season finale in Australia. There Schumacher pulled ‘that’ move to secure his first world championship. Please note this replica will not include a driver figure.
