Porsche 935K3 - 1st Le Mans 1979 - #41 1:18
This Porsche 953 K3 is the overall winner from the 1979 Le Mans 24 Hours, driven by brothers Don and Bill Whittington, and German racing legend Klaus Ludwig. In difficult conditions, with numerous rain showers throughout the race, the trio completed 307 laps before taking the chequered flag a comfortable eight laps ahead of the Porsche 935/77A of Paul Newman, Dick Barbour and Rolf Stommelen. The 935 K3 features a removable bonnet and engine cover and opening doors. These reveal a very impressive level of engine and cockpit detail that is not far short of what one used to see on an Exoto replica.

Great detail, except- why has no-one commented on the fact that the rear side window surround should be black and not body colour on all these K3's? And at the price you would think the vents on the removable engine cover should be opened out? And the slats on the front wheel arches? Under bonnet front and rear and interior are first class though.

I was most impressed with this model. TSM is obviously now a force to be reckoned with. As I was at Le Mans to see that victory this model was of particilar interest to me. Thoroughly recommended. Any chance of the 1977 winning Porsche 936? That I'd dearly love to see.

Excellent model from TSM, it even has more detailed features than the previous 3 935 K3's that they have released. Again they have brilliant quality and excellent presentation with model and the price is very good value.
