This is the most beautiful car ever built !!!

questionable detailling. the spinners should be 3 eared, the boot should have a gearbox in it, the bonnet vents shouldn't be there, they were only on the dbr2, the vents on the front should be foglights, there was no fire extinguisher on display, and the dbr1 usually only has 1 seat. the wheels are too wide, and the tow loops should be yellow and thin plate metal, not the I beam design featured on this model. sadly, shelby collectables seem to have taken details from the dbr2 and the dbr1. i guess you get what you pay for, but being as exoto are still dragging their heels, this is the only 1:18 dbr1 model you'll see for a while yet. stunning car in real life by the way, and my personal favourite.

Extract from our Formula 1 catalogue BR68 – June 2009

We were a bit confused when Shelby Collectibles announced a 1:18 replica of the 1959 Le Mans winning Aston Martin DBR1, but then we remembered that one of the drivers was none other than Carroll Shelby!

The other driver was Roy Salvadori, of course, and we are thrilled that he will also be signing this replica for us.

Aston Martin dominated the 1959 running of the endurance classic at Le Mans. The team took a comfortable 1-2 win, just one lap apart, while the third place Ferrari 250 GT was some 26 laps adrift.

£49.99 is almost unheard of for a 1:18 replica these days, so this model represents excellent value for money. A little more expensive, but a lot more special, is the version signed by one of its victorious pilots.
